Consultation assistant for law firms
New clients at a law firm often don't know which attorney they should talk to: divorce case to the family lawyer, real estate to the property lawyer, labor dispute to the employment lawyer. The ChatAutomata AI chatbot pre-screens the case and routes the consultation booking to the right specialist.
- Case type pre-screening: divorce, inheritance, real estate, labor law, civil law
- Urgency classification: within 7 days / within 30 days / no rush
- Preliminary fee information (hourly rate, case-value based, flat fee)
What can the chatbot do for law firms?
Attorney-client privilege aware communication
The chatbot does NOT request specific case details. It records general case type and urgency, the client discusses specifics with the attorney — in person.
Specialist selection
The client determines in 3-4 questions: family law, property law, labor law, civil law, business law, criminal law. The chatbot offers the appropriate specialist's available slots within the firm.
Consultation booking on 3 channels
The client can choose: in-person office meeting, phone consultation, or video meeting (Zoom/Jitsi). The chatbot manages the appropriate calendar for all three.
Official email to the client
After booking, the chatbot sends an official confirmation email: time, location/link, fee schedule, recommended preparation (documents), office map link, parking info.
Template document preparation
For simple documents (power of attorney, declaration, client data sheet) the chatbot sends a template. Legal content editing always remains with the attorney — the chatbot only prepares the form.
Document upload preparation
Business+ plan: the client can upload case-related documents via secure link. The chatbot provides preliminary checks and flags if something is missing (e.g., property deed copy for real estate cases).
Industry usage examples
The following case studies are generic industry examples — not specific client names, but typical situations on the Hungarian market.
Family law firm — divorce case pre-screening
A family law firm gets 5-10 new inquiries daily. Everyone needs the same phone questions: is there shared property, children, prenuptial agreement. This takes up most of the receptionist's time.
The chatbot collects basic data via structured flow (anonymized: 'is there shared property: yes/no', NOT details). The consultation is prepared: the attorney already knows what to expect.
Real estate lawyer — purchase agreement consultation
A real estate lawyer reviews purchase agreements. Clients often don't bring the property deed, energy certificate, and the consultation gets delayed.
The chatbot lists mandatory documents before confirming the booking, and the client can only book if they commit to bringing them. Consultation efficiency improves.
Employment lawyer — legal issue assessment
An employment lawyer handles mixed cases: termination, salary disputes, discrimination, employment termination. Clients don't know which category they fall into.
The chatbot categorizes the case type based on a brief description, and preliminarily indicates the expected hourly rate and consultation length. The consultation structure becomes clearer.

Frequently asked questions
How does it handle attorney-client privilege?
The chatbot only records general case type and urgency, does NOT request specific case details. It doesn't give legal opinion-type answers — the attorney discusses specifics with the client in person. It does NOT violate attorney-client privilege.
Can it generate documents?
Only forms (client data sheet, contact declaration, simple power of attorney template). It does NOT generate legal opinion documents, court filings, or agreement drafts. Specific document editing always remains with the attorney.
How does it protect client data?
TLS 1.3 for all data transfer, pgcrypto encrypted-at-rest storage, runs on EU servers (Hostinger). Booking data (name, phone, email, case type) is stored encrypted, visible only to the specific firm. We do NOT share data with third parties.
Can it give legal advice?
NO. The chatbot provides general information (differences between prenuptial agreement and cohabitation property agreement, what documents are needed for a purchase, etc.), but NEVER gives specific legal advice. For specific cases, it always directs to an attorney.
Which channels does it work on?
Web widget on the firm's website, Facebook Messenger (if the firm's Page is active), optionally WhatsApp Business. In the legal profession, web widget is the most common choice — Messenger/WhatsApp is more occasional.
How much does it cost for a law firm?
For a 1-3 person firm, the Starter plan ($15/mo) is sufficient. For larger firms (5+ lawyers, thousands of clients), the Pro plan ($45/mo, 10,000 messages, tool-calling). For custom integration needs, the Business plan.
